Savannah Georgia

I used to run the roads up and down the eastern midwest looking for a place to play. Every time I hit Savannah, Georgia, the southern girls there struck me (usually with an open hand). I have to say though, that was one hell of a gathering place, especially for single guys like I was then.
VERSE 1
I dig my toes a little deeper into the Savannah sand
Thinkin bout when we first met
I remember she was oh so tan
Oh but she set sail on another sea,
Now her hearts a thousand miles away from me
I think of my days when I was Georgia's man

CHORUS
(Savannah Georgia) God I miss that smile so sweet
(Savannah Georgia) And the way she used to kiss me
The memories flood back through my mind
As the palm trees wave the clouds on by
I think of my days when I was Georgia's man

VERSE 2
She was a Savannah girl I met while I was passin through
Headed down to Key Largo another bar gig to do
Oh she swept me away out beneath the stars
Even the light from the morning sun was ours
I think of my days when I was Georgia's man
