Kenny Ray Horton: Music
Long & Slow
(Kenny Ray Horton)
April 1, 2003
Written by Kenny Ray Horton/Bruce Gaitsch
Written in 1998, I woke up one morning and started getting ready to go to Bruce's house for one of our Tuesday morning writing sessions. I hadn't come up with any ideas to run with in our session and I always tried to bring an idea with me to get us started. I wanted to write something for my record a little steamy. Man, Bruce and I had fun talkin this one over. This one's for all of you heavy romantics out there!
VERSE 1
Baby come and sit down
I'm feeling all alone
You know it's been all day
Since you've been home
I want to feel you up close
But you better be warned
This is the calm
Before the storm
Here's a glass of red wine
Baby take off your coat
Kick off your shoes
You've got no place to go
Let the candles burn down
Til they're nothing but smoke
Baby I just gots to have some
CHORUS
Long slow kisses in the night
Let's take it long and slow til we get it right
Long slow kisses in the night
Give it to me long and slow
VERSE 2
Shadows up on the wall
By the light if the moon
Is it hot in here
Or is it you
One at a time
The buttons coming undone
Baby I just gots to have some
BRIDGE
Call your mama,
Call all of your friends
Tell them you found a man
Who don't want this ever to end
